Hello, my lovelies.
After watching Little Book Owl‘s Bout of Books 17.0 TBR video, I have also decided to participate in this read-a-thon as my reading has slowed down quite a bit with the turn of this new month and I’m still playing a game of cat-and-mouse with my Goodreads Reading Challenge. Bout of Books 17.0 takes place from August 22–28th, which just so happens to be my first week back to school and first proper week learning about my new job. So it’s going to be craziness! But I’m sure I’ll manage to learn and read a lot of great new stuff and have fun to boot.
Here’s the blurb provided by the ladies hosting the read-a-thon:
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 22nd and runs through Sunday, August 28th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 17 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog.

Personally I’m just going to try and be reading as much as possible. I’m not really a slow reader, but I do find it necessary to take time in between reading books to digest, particularly if I’ve been really moved by my last read. So if I can read four books, that would be great for me.
I actually do not yet know what I’ll be reading yet! I’m returning to Dallas tomorrow (Thursday, August 18th) so I’ll be reunited with my on-campus library which is decently stocked with new popular releases. So I have a few books in mind that I’m hoping I’ll be able to find, but I can’t set my TBR officially just yet.
Most likely I will pull a selection of books tomorrow that I’m most eager to read and then just see what I get to next week. I think I will do an “official” Bout of Books 17.0 TBR on Sunday most likely, which will essentially double as a library book haul.
Also Next Week
What I would like to do next week (Monday–Friday) is some daily blogging. In addition to my daily progress through this read-a-thon, I imagine there will be some other things going on in my life that I’ll also want to record. So hopefully I’ll come up with a fun format with which to do that so you can easily cherry-pick what you want to read. Also let me know if you have any suggestions or recommendations on how to do that!
Hopefully after this read-a-thon, I’ll begin to do more #AmWriting posts! My mind is still on my story, but I’m still struggling a little bit. I think once I’m settled back in Dallas, I will be able to work more diligently on writing and share once again. Reading is just a little more of a priority for me at the moment! (And I like to think it’s helping me become a better writer anyway.)
